Nicole Beros - Physical Therapist Assistant/Office Manager
Nicole graduated with honours from SAIT in 2008. She holds a diploma as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant. She started working with the Saskatoon Health Region upon graduation. She joined Emerald Physiotherapy in 2010 but continues to work casually for the Saskatchewan Health Region.
In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her two young girl, her husband and loved ones. She has a love of travelling. She enjoys spending time outside hiking, camping and quadding. She also enjoys staying active with running, rugby, dodgeball and yoga.
Suzanne Funk BMRPT
Known to her clients as the ‘Vagina Consultant’, Suzanne is passionate about pelvic floor physical therapy and the necessity for practitioners to be knowledgeable and comfortable when assessing and treating pelvic floor dysfunction. Suzanne graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in the Division of Physical Therapy and has been treating pelvic floor dysfunction since 2009. She opened her first private physical therapy clinic in 1995 and has been working in private practice ever since. Suzanne’s strength lies in teaching and her ability to take complex subjects and teach them to patients and colleagues in a way that is understandable, relatable, and usable. She was a guest lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan from 2005 – 2017, has presented 3 times at the Canadian Physical Therapy Association’s annual conference and is an active contributor of educational videos for patients and practitioners on the teaching website OBGYN Academy. 2018 - 2020 she was involved in a research project with Dr. M. Giroux, Dr. R. Bhargava and Dr. H. Kamencic. The research paper was published in IUGA (International Urogynecology Journal) in July, 2020. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7477739/ She is also a member of a Multidisciplinary Chronic Pelvic Pain team that assesses and treats some of the most complex chronic pelvic pain clients in Saskatchewan. Since January, 2022, she has been active with a non-physician teaching position with the University of Saskatchewn, College of Medicine; sharing her clinical knowledge with 3rd year medical students who she regularly mentors in her clinic as well as instructing them in the SIM Lab during their 6 week Obsgyn clerkship. |
